Our historic 16th-century pub with rooms houses 17 beautiful bedrooms.

Our rooms are set above and beside the pub. These rooms have everything you need for a good night’s sleep. Plus oodles of space to unpack, and generously stocked mini-bars (plus overflowing snack baskets too.)

How long should you stay in Claygate?

As locals we love our slice of Surrey and know you will too.

We think a stay of two nights is pretty perfect. A little less? You’ll have a great time (we promise), but there’s just so much to see and do in Claygate that you’ll wish you had an extra night with us.

Staying for longer? We’ll give you all the hints and tips to make sure Claygate is at the top of your countryside break hitlist.

What are the best things to do in Claygate?

There’s so much. Honestly, so much with the best of Surrey and London within easy reach.

Visit historic Hampton Court Palace or let the adrenaline junkie loose at Chessington World of Adventures (less than 10-minute drive away).

And we love to share personal recommendations, so feel free to ask us when you’re here. We’re a friendly bunch.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm. If you arrive early and your room isn’t quite ready, there’s plenty of space in our pub (she’s a real beauty) to relax, have a bite to eat or a little tipple.

Arriving early and want to head out? No problem, we’ll hold on to your bags until you’re back.

Check-out is by 11am.

What time is breakfast?

Brekkie is served from 8am on weekdays, and 9am on weekends (we all deserve a little lie-in). If your room rate doesn’t include breakfast but you can’t quite resist, fear not, walk-ins are very welcome.

Do you have any family-friendly bedrooms?

Yes, our Boutique and Boutique Twin rooms are family-friendly. Some have space for cots for little ones and some have space for fold out beds (for bigger little ones). One Boutique Twin room has a single sofa bed (you’ll need to add a note to your booking or give us a call if that’s the room you’re after).

Kids under 2 stay for free. 2-16 are £15 per night.

Can I bring my dog to stay?

Yes, please do. Our Boutique and Boutique Twin rooms are dog-friendly.

Just add your dog to your booking (up to two doggo’s can stay with you for £15 per night), and we’ll make sure they get a VIP welcome with a super-comfy doggy bed, blanket and tasty tail-wagging treats.

Do you have any parking?

Yes, we’ve got plenty of on-site parking.

How do I get to you via public transport?

We’re a hop, skip and jump from Claygate train station (just a 2-minute walk – so not far to carry your cases).

Booking Bits

Can I cancel my booking?

We understand that plans sometimes change, so we try to make our booking policies super flexible. You can cancel or modify your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. If you cancel outside of this time or don’t show up, we’re sorry, but we’ll have to charge you for the first night of your stay. The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-refundable and non-amendable.

Can I make changes to my booking?

You can make changes to your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. This includes changes to your package, room and extras (as long as it’s available). The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-amendable.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?

Of course. When booking online, you have the option to send an invoice in step 2. Missed this step? Not to worry, just ask at Reception and the team will email you a copy. Checked out already? Pop us an email and we’ll send one right over.
